Gegensatzpaarwanderung

Gegensatzpaarwanderung

"Gegensatzpaarwanderung" is an exhibition by Svenja Hehner, which invites to take part in a shared action on the site of the former Tempelhof Airport.

This action is to be understood as an expansion of the expanded concept of art as social sculpture, developed by Joseph Beuys, to a metaphysical sculpture.
Through the active internalisation of the simultaneous presence of opposite poles, also remembering the role of the Tempelhof Airport during national socialism, the walk is an action and an image of the reconciliation between universalistic life concept and inhuman and megalomaniac ideologies.

Metaphysical sculpture:

If an artist is authentic, then the source from which he creates is identical with the metaphysical source of all being. The creator mediates the reconnection (religio) of the individual to what he intrinsically is.

Svenja Hehner distances herself consciously from the representations of Rudolf Steiner's world view in Joseph Beuys' work because of Steiner's race theoretical constructs.
